Jadon Sancho makes decision on Man Utd return - report

Image
Jadon Sancho has no desire to return to Manchester United as he blames manager Erik ten Hag for letting his career stall, a report has claimed. After being left out of the matchday squad for United's fourth Premier League Game of the season, Sancho publicly rejected Ten Hag's suggestions that he was dropped for his lack of effort in training, sparking a four-month exile which ultimately led to a loan return to Dortmund in the January transfer window. Sancho's loan deal does not include a permanent transfer clause and he is therefore expected back at United in the summer, but according to BILD , the 23-year-old has already made it clear he has no desire to return to Old Trafford. The report claims Sancho blames Ten Hag for letting his career stagnate on the sidelines and has no desire to work under the Dutchman again. Whether he would consider a comeback under a new manager is unclear but the belief is that Sancho's current focus is on continuing with Dortmund. 90mi...

Mikel Arteta challenges Aaron Ramsdale ahead of Arsenal return

Image
Mikel Arteta has urged Aaron Ramsdale to seize his opportunity in what will be a rare start for Arsenal against Brentford. Number one goalkeeper David Raya is ineligible to face his parent club, meaning Ramsdale will return for his first Premier League appearance since November's meeting with the Bees, in which he kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory. Ramsdale has played just twice since then - a Europa League draw with PSV Eindhoven in December and January's FA Cup defeat to Liverpool - but Arteta does not expect any rust from the 25-year-old. "He's fully prepared," Arteta said of Ramsdale. "He's training every day. He’s desperate to play like the rest of the boys that haven't had that many opportunities. Saturday will be a great opportunity for him. "He's been brilliant. He's been really supportive and pushing in training every day like I expected. It's a joy to have two top goalkeepers in the team." The Spaniard added that he ...

Jose Mourinho eyeing shock Man Utd return - report

Image
Jose Mourinho has been linked with a shock return to Manchester United just over five years after he was sacked by the Old Trafford club towards the end of 2018. Mourinho is currently out of work after being let go by Roma earlier this month and is seemingly looking for a way back into Football . The will appears to come from Mourinho's side, with the Daily Mail reporting that the 61-year-old is "keen" to take charge at Old Trafford for a second time. The logic conveyed to the newspaper by a friend of Mourinho's is that he has "unfinished business" at the club given how his first spell ended. As such, it is claimed that the former Chelsea boss has "made it his mission" to become United manager again if the opportunity were to arise in the future. It seems unlikely to become reality, at least any time soon. Erik ten Hag is currently in the second season of a three year contract and there is a feeling of optimism among fans that Sir Jim Ratcliffe...

Anthony Martial injury: Progress & potential return date for Man Utd striker

Image
We're creeping into 2024 yet we're still talking about Anthony Martial as a Manchester United player. Lunacy. For a club whose desperate need for a supposed 'overhaul' has been documented time and time again over the past decade, it's pretty remarkable that a player who promised so much but contributed little remains on the club's books. Perhaps there's still hope that Martial's projected Ballon d'Or form will come to pass. Sure, it hasn't been all bad for the Frenchman in Manchester, and there genuinely was a time either side of the COVID-19 pandemic when Martial was a leading protagonist for the Red Devils. However, as Martial drifts into his ninth year at Old Trafford, the forward's career has declined into obscurity. So much so that barely anyone has noticed his recent absence. For those still keeping track, here's the latest fitness updates on a player with more Premier League goals for Manchester United than David Beckham ever man...

A mightily tight contest ensued with Gabriel Jesus deputising for Saka down Arsenal 's right. Jesus' energy was infectious, but his decision-making let him down on occasions in the final third. However, Gooners will be keen to see Saka back in action as soon as possible. While he perhaps hasn't been at his very best to start 2023/24, the winger has still notched ten goal contributions in as many games. He's evolving into an output machine.
