Newcastle considering Chelsea attacker among January targets

Newcastle are looking at a number of attacking options as the January transfer window continues and Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech is one those under consideration, sources have confirmed to 90min . Ziyech is among a number of Chelsea players who have been told they can move in this window. The 29-year-old was looking to leave last summer, but the likes of Ajax and AC Milan failed to agree terms with Chelsea and he is now looking for that exit this month instead. After performing well at the World Cup with semi-finalists Morocco, Ziyech is keen to taste regular first-team Football but he knows that will likely only be possible away from Stamford Bridge. Chelsea boss Graham Potter admitted he followed Ziyech closely in Qatar and was impressed, but admits he can't promise him the regular chance the player wants. Potter said: "We know his qualities and we like him as a player. At Chelsea there are always good players that aren't in the starting XI. [I am] delighted for him to ge

Who should Arsenal sign after missing out on Mykhailo Mudryk?

Arsenal's majesty on the pitch hasn't quite been matched by their performance off of it during the January transfer window. While the Gunners sit in an imperious position at the top of the Premier League table, many supporters feel that an extra attacking option is required to ensure they can sustain their title bid. The possibility of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka being run into the ground may eventually stunt their charge, and the enormity of the opportunity that has been presented to them means the club can ill-afford to be inactive in the transfer market this month. For so long, Mykhailo Mudryk seemed destined to arrive in north London before their move was hijacked by London rivals Chelsea. The Blues moved with ruthless efficiency while Arsenal pondered, and now the onus is on Edu to seek out alternative options. Here's a look at who the Gunners could, and perhaps should, target. 1. Casemiro suspension 'a big blow' for Man Utd

David de Gea has admitted losing Casemiro to suspension is a huge blow for Manchester United. The Brazilian midfielder has been a revelation in Erik ten Hag's midfield, quickly establishing himself as one of the most important players in the side with a string of fine performances. Casemiro was initially eased into life at Old Trafford following his £70m switch from Real Madrid, but United's best form has come since the 30-year-old became a regular starter. However, a fifth yellow card of the season, picked up in the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, means Casemiro will miss United's trip to Premier League leaders Arsenal. Supporters were quick to lament Casemiro's absence for the Game , and that sentiment was shared by De Gea when he spoke to Sky Sports after the final whistle. "It's a big blow to lose Casemiro for Sunday," the Spaniard admitted. "I don't get why Arsenal don't play as we have to play in the same week and they d

Graham Potter drops huge Mykhailo Mudryk hint ahead of Liverpool clash

Chelsea manager Graham Potter has hinted new signing Mykhailo Mudryk could make his debut in this weekend's clash with Liverpool. Mudryk completed his big-money transfer to Stamford Bridge from Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday, signing a whopping eight-and-a-half-year contract. The 22-year-old has already been getting to know his new teammates in training and with a testing trip to Anfield coming this Saturday to face Liverpool, fans are naturally wondering whether or not Mudryk could make his debut. Potter has called for realism when it comes to Mudryk's immediate impact as the Ukraine international adjusts to a new league and country, but did reveal he'd been training well and is in contention for a place in Saturday's squad. "He hasn't played so much Football recently but has been training well. There's a chance [he could make his debut]," Potter told reporters on Friday. What Noni Madueke brings to Chelsea

Noni Madueke has officially joined Chelsea, with PSV Eindhoven agreeing to let the winger join the Premier League club for a fee in the region of £30m. To say the English winger is an unknown quantity in his home country is an exaggeration - since trading Tottenham's academy for PSV in 2018, he's caught the eye in the Netherlands and has been linked with a number of Premier League sides. However, injury issues and the rise of Cody Gakpo have meant that the 20-year-old has been very much out of the spotlight in Eindhoven in the past year or so. Given that, many Chelsea fans won't be entirely sure what to expect from their new signing, so let's take a closer look... Chelsea sign Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven Noni Madueke discusses his 'similarities' to Chelsea legend It's unclear just how often Madueke will play at Chelsea, but what is clear is where on the pitch he'll play when he does. Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea: Player ratings as Reds & Blues play out goalless draw

Liverpool and Chelsea's struggles this season continued in a 0-0 draw at Anfield on Saturday. Jurgen Klopp and Graham Potter's respective sides both failed to take control of a match that was there for the taking and they now remain mired in mid-table. Chelsea had the ball in the net after just three minutes. Conor Gallagher's corner was knocked back by Benoit Badiashile and diverted against the post by Thiago Silva, with Kai Havertz sweeping in the rebound. But the German was judged to have been offside when the Brazilian struck the ball and the goal was chalked off. Down the other end, Mohamed Salah was released by Stefan Bajcetic and teed up Cody Gakpo, but the winter signing was leaning back and his strike sailed harmlessly over into the Anfield Road stand. Gakpo again fired over after robbing Lewis Hall of possession on the edge of his own box a short time later as his frustrating first half continued. Chelsea were beginning to find holes in the Liverpool defence. A cu

Cesar Azpilicueta becomes sixth player to make 500 Chelsea appearances

Cesar Azpilicueta became the sixth player ever to make 500 appearances in a Chelsea shirt in the 0-0 draw with Liverpool on Saturday. Chelsea signed the Spanish full-back from Marseille in the summer of 2012, paying the French club around £7m to get him. He immediately became a first-team player and has remained one ever since, playing at least 40 times in each of the ten full seasons he has spent at the club. Even at the age of 33, he is still an important player for them and has already played 24 matches this season, with the 24th taking him onto a significant milestone. Prior to the match against Liverpool, which ended 0-0, only five player s had played 500 times for Chelsea: Ron Harris, Pet er Bonetti, John Terry, Frank Lampard and John Hollins. Azpilicueta has now become the sixth man to do so, further cementing his place in the club's history books after being brought on with nine minutes left of the match at Anfield to help his team hold on to a point. Given his age, it&#

Arsenal & Chelsea make enquiries about Eduardo Camavinga

Arsenal and Chelsea have both asked Real Madrid about the availability of Eduardo Camavinga this month, sources have told 90min . The Gunners and the Blues are both on the hunt for reinforcements in midfield before the end of the January transfer window - 90min reported on Friday about Chelsea's failed approaches for Franck Kessie, Yves Bissouma and Moises Caicedo already this week. Their respective searches have led them to Camavinga, who has found starts hard to come by in his two years with Los Blancos. However, sources close to Real Madrid insist that they want to keep him, while those close to Camavinga say he is not looking to leave and is happy at the club despite his limited Game time. Carlo Ancelotti recently spoke about Camavinga's role in his squad shortly prior to news of interest from England first broke. Leicester continue to push for double January deal

Leicester City are continuing talks to sign Victor Kristiansen and Nicolas Gonzalez before the end of the January transfer window, sources have told 90min . The Foxes are in real danger of being dragged into a relegation dogfight this season following a series of subpar displays. Brendan Rodgers has been busy trying to add to his squad this month, leading Leicester to left-back Kristiansen and versatile forward Gonzalez. 90min understands that Leicester's talks with Kobenhavn for Kristiansen are advanced and a €20m deal could be wrapped up this weekend. The 20-year-old has already played 73 times for Kobenhavn's first team and is a regular in Denmark's Under-21 setup. How can Chelsea qualify for the Champions League?

For Todd Boehly, the answer is simple: SPEND, SPEND, SPEND! Chelsea have splurged a bucket load on talent since the American's arrival last May, but injuries and misfortune have undermined the start to Graham Potter's tenure as manager. The Blues are languishing in mid-table halfway through the 2022/23 season as a result, and they've got a lot of ground to make up during the second half of the campaign if they're to somehow sneak into a top-four spot. The club's January Business will undoubtedly aid Potter's cause, but their current deficit is a large one. How can Chelsea qualify for the Champions League? Chelsea's path to the 2023/24 Champions League is foggy. A dreadful run of form in the wake of Potter's honeymoon period has left the Blues tenth in the Premier League and ten points adrift of Newcastle in fourth. Their malaise isn't expected to last for long, however, with January signings Benoit Badiashile, Joao Felix (once he returns from his t
