Reece James makes decision on hamstring surgery

Chelsea captain Reece James is set to undergo surgery on his latest hamstring injury in the hope of finally overcoming a problem that has plagued his young career. James suffered his third serious hamstring issue of 2023 earlier this month and has seen a series of specialists to try and determine the cause, as well as the best possible solution for the problem. Sources have confirmed to 90min that James has sought several opinions on his hamstring s and the decision has been made to send the right-back under the knife. It is understood to have been mutually agreed by James, manager Mauricio Pochettino and club officials. James is now expected to head to Finland for an operation which will rule him out of action for up to four months. An April return would see James enter into a race against time to prove his fitness for Euro 2024, which will get underway in Germany on June 14. Erling Haaland and Pep Guardiola react to controversial referee decision in 3-3 draw with Tottenham

Erling Haaland and Pep Guardiola have both reacted to Simon Hooper's decision not to play advantage when Jack Grealish was through on goal late in Man City's 3-3 draw with Tottenham Hotspur. In added time at the end of the clash between City and Spurs at the Etihad, Hooper appeared to initially indicating Man City to play advantage when Erling Haaland was chopped down on the half-way line by Emerson Royal, before then opting to blow his whistle for a free kick when said advantage was played and Grealish had found himself clean through on goal. Haaland and his teammate were notably furious with the decision on the pitch, and the striker has vented his fury in the immediate aftermath of the game too, taking to X to repost a clip of the incident with the caption: "Wtf". Bernd Leno criticises Mikel Arteta's goalkeeper philsophy after Aaron Ramsdale decision

Former Arsenal number one Bernd Leno has hit out at Gunners boss Mikel Arteta and the way he uses goalkeepers after making the decision to replace Aaron Ramsdale with David Raya. Despite Ramsdale enjoying a stellar 2022/23 that saw him named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year, Arsenal signed David Raya on an initial loan from Brentford during the summer. Ramsdale initially kept his place but was dropped after the international break and has been on the bench for the last two Game s against Everton and PSV Eindhoven in the Premier League and Champions League respectively. Raya also started again in Sunday’s north London derby. Leno was replaced by Ramsdale in similar circumstances two years ago and has now said he feels sorry for his former Gunners teammate. Tottenham owner makes decision on Harry Kane's future

Tottenham Hotspur owner Joe Lewis does not want to lose Harry Kane for free in 2024 and has made his position clear to chairman Daniel Levy, 90min understands. Levy, who is employed by Lewis's ENIC Group to run Spurs, has been playing hardball with Kane in that he has not been willing to entertain any interest in his captain. However, Bahamas-based Lewis has made it clear to Levy that allowing Kane to leave on a free transfer in 12 months is not something he wants to see and has warned his chairman that the striker must be sold this summer if he does not agree to a contract extension.
