Bukayo Saka named Premier League Player of the Month for March

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has won the Premier League 's Player of the Month award for March. Saka was among a six-man shortlist for the award alongside Alexander Isak, Alexis Mac Allister, Tyrone Mings, Mohamed Salah and Arsenal teammate Leandro Trossard. However, he was always a favourite to win after a month in which he netted three goals and set up another two for the Premier League leaders. Saka, who wins this award for the first time in his career, moved into double figures for both goals and assists in March, netting his tenth goal of the campaign in a 4-0 win over Everton to kick off the month - a Game in which he also bagged an assist. He then added two more goals in a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace, while also recording his tenth assist of the season by setting up Gabriel Martinelli's opening goal. Tottenham handed double blow in pursuit of new manager

Julian Nagelsmann and Mauricio Pochettino would both be open to succeeding Antonio Conte at Tottenham, but would prefer to wait until the summer to decide their next respective moves, 90min understands. Conte's former assistant, Cristian Stellini, has been placed in interim charge until the end of the season with the hunt for a new permanent boss underway - this search could be complicated by FIFA's decision to enforce managing director of Football Fabio Paratici's Football ing ban, subject to appeal. Two of Spurs' targets are currently out of work, with Nagelsmann recently having departed Bayern Munich and Pochettino unemployed since leaving Paris Saint-Germain last year. Erling Haaland makes feelings clear on potential future rivalry with Kylian Mbappe

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has played down the idea of a future rivalry with Kylian Mbappe similar to the enduring Lionel Messi-Cristiano Ronaldo rivalry that has dominated Football debate for nearly 15 years. Haaland, who has scored 24 goals in 19 games since joining City in the summer, and Mbappe, who has already scored 12 World Cup goals before his 24th birthday, have been tipped to succeed Messi, 35, and Ronaldo, 37, as the best players in the world over the coming years. But Haaland has little interest in becoming embroiled in the same kind of rivalry “I don't like to compare myself with others. I think you need to be your own player when it comes to that so I don't like to compare or anything with that,” he told Viaplay . “I think the media has been doing that with Ronaldo and Messi for the last 10 years and I think they've been pushing each other as well. I think it's been a positive thing. Barcelona and Madrid against each other. It's been t

Chelsea co-owner opens up on plans for multi-club model

Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali has given his thoughts on building a multi-club network to go alongside the Blues. Eghbali and fellow co-owner Todd Boehly have made no secret of their plans to transition to a data-driven, multi-club system and have acquired staff from both Brighton and Red Bull to make their dream a reality, with the latest hiring being former RB Leipzig technical director Christopher Vivell. Speaking at SporticoLive’s Invest in Sports summit, Eghbali was asked about the benefits of a multi-club model and what it would bring to Chelsea. "I think three different reasons for it," Eghbali began. "One, if done well you can make money on each specific enterprise. "Two, if done right, if you use data, if you're thoughtful about this global market for talent and access of talent that is not effectively done through a draft or an extensive college or baseball farm system which I would attribute as a multi-club model . You can capture, acquire, retai

Erik ten Hag provides update on Man Utd's centre-back crisis

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed that Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have not yet returned to training, though they have been boosted by Harry Maguire's recovery from an illness. Man Utd don't need Cody Gakpo - Liverpool have done them a favour

Is it funny that Liverpool have once again snuck in during the dead of night (while they were playing away at Aston Villa on the return of the Premier League , to be more precise) to steal a transfer target from under the noses of bitter rivals Manchester United? Yes. Of course it is. Even United fans aren't going to dispute that. Cody Gakpo will join the likes of Fabinho and Sadio Mane in signing for the Reds instead of the Red Devils, another top young player making his way down the M62 into Merseyside after going round and round on the M60. The Dutchman has been very vocal about United's previous attempts to sign him and Erik ten Hag's personal pleas. For months, it seemed destined that Gakpo would end up heading to Old Trafford, potentially taking the famous number seven shirt after it had been disgraced by the most recent occupant. And yet United may end up walking away from this saga without regret. They won't immediately because they're a massive club who sho

Man Utd boosted as key player returns to training

Manchester United have confirmed that World Cup winner Lisandro Martinez has return ed to training . The defender was a part of the Argentina squad that beat France to be crowned World champions in Qatar earlier this month, ending a 36-year wait to lift the trophy once again. Martinez has impressed since joining United and quickly established himself as one of Erik ten Hag's most important players, but featured sparingly for Argentina throughout the tournament. He made five appearances in total but could manage only one start under Lionel Scaloni in the Qatar, putting in a commanding display against Mexico. United confirmed in a statement that he return ed as his teammates completed a recovery session on Wednesday 28 December, a day after beating Nottingham Forest 3-0. The 24-year-old signed in summer despite interest from Arsenal and immediately received criticism with many doubting his abilities due to his height. However, Martinez has quickly displaced the likes of Harry Maguir
