Andrew Robertson reveals Liverpool's plans for Jurgen Klopp send-off

Andrew Robertson has insisted the Liverpool squad are keen to give Jurgen Klopp "a send-off he truly deserves" after securing progression to the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Klopp has confirmed he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season following nine incredible years at the club. Speaking on Friday, the German confirmed that he was stepping away from his managerial post as he is "running out of energy."

Liverpool have since played their first Game since the news broke, thumping Norwich City on Sunday to progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

The result means Liverpool head into the final few months with Klopp at the helm fighting on all three domestic fronts as well as the UEFA Europa League. The Reds are currently top of the Premier League, five points clear of long-term title rivals Manchester City, and speaking to the press after the Game, Robertson confirmed that the Liverpool squad will try and win every comPetition for their departing manager.

"Like the rest of the world it was a bit of a shock when he told us all nobody really knew where to look or what to do but you have to respect his decision, he's thought long and hard about it, he's not a rash person he's obviously thought a lot about it with his family," Robertson said.

"For what he's done for this club we'll all be forever grateful and I think yeah he doesn't want the fans signing his song but I think he's going to lose that battle unfortunately!

"The fans always want to say a proper goodbye to him but for us players the one thing he asked from us is that it has to be business as usual, we have to keep fighting on all fronts we have to keep trying to keep winning games and hopefully that results in giving him a send-off that he truly deserves."

Liverpool will return to Premier League action on Wednesday when they welcome a resurgent Chelsea to Anfield - the two will later meet in the Carabao Cup final at the end of February.
