Now is the time to shine for Christian Pulisic in the USMNT

Christian Pulisic will wear the armband for USMNT tonight they they look to build on a positive performance against Germany last weekend. Pulisic, now with AC Milan, opened the scoring against Germany but has not always been able to show the best of his huge talents with the national team. 

With the 2026 World Cup drawing nearer, now is the time for Pulisic to start delivering on his promise.

And here's the Ghana team to face the USA

Chris Houghton names a strong team for tonight's Game, with the Premier League trio of Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew and Kudus Mohammed all selected. The Black Stars also have Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams in the starting XI.

Ghana gather at Geodis

The Black Stars squad are in the house at Geodis Park, Nashville for tonight's Game. Former Newcastle United and Brighton manager Chris Houghton leads the team and is expected to name a strong team for the USMNT clash.

Brenden Aaronson happy with Germany test: “Playing against a top team is fantastic”

Brenden Aaronson is once again on the substitute's bench for tonight's USMNT fixture, but the young midfielder is feeling optimistic about his position in the squad. He is looking to play his way back into contention to start and believes that, in Greg Berhalter, he has a coach that can play to his strengths. 

Aaronson said of the USMNT coach: “He knows that I’m a player that likes to be between the lines, pushing the attack, and playing final balls and getting goals.”

Ghana's pre-match preparations

Ahead of tonight's Game the Black Stars, as Ghana are known, relax with a team walk around the city of Nashville. The international friendly at Geodis Park gets underway in about 50 minutes.

We're around an hour from kick-off at Geodis Park and the US side have arrived. As tournament hosts USMNT don't need to qualify for the upcoming World Cup but they will be looking to build momentum, starting with tonight's game against Ghana.

Greg Berhalter's side took the lead against Germany in their last outing but were comfortably beaten by a strong German side. Ghana will be no push-overs and can call upon a number of players with top level experience.

Liverpool handed boost after Barcelona rule managerial target out of race to succeed Xavi

Barcelona sporting director Deco has questioned the credentials of Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim and effectively ruled him out of the race to replace Xavi this summer. Xavi will stand down from his role as Barca's head coach at the end of the 2023/24 season and there has been plenty of speculation over who his successor will be. Like Barcelona, Liverpool are also on the hunt for a new manager with Jurgen Klopp leaving the club at the end of the season. Both have been linked with 39-year-old Amorim, who has done a stellar job at Sporting since his appointment in 2020, notably leading them to their first Portuguese title in 19 years during his first full season.
