Bukayo Saka named Premier League Player of the Month for March

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has won the Premier League's Player of the Month award for March.

Saka was among a six-man shortlist for the award alongside Alexander Isak, Alexis Mac Allister, Tyrone Mings, Mohamed Salah and Arsenal teammate Leandro Trossard.

However, he was always a favourite to win after a month in which he netted three goals and set up another two for the Premier League leaders.

Saka, who wins this award for the first time in his career, moved into double figures for both goals and assists in March, netting his tenth goal of the campaign in a 4-0 win over Everton to kick off the month - a Game in which he also bagged an assist.

He then added two more goals in a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace, while also recording his tenth assist of the season by setting up Gabriel Martinelli's opening goal.

Saka is the only player in the Premier League this season to record double figures in both goals and assist, and he is also the first Arsenal player to reach that feat since Alexis Sanchez in the 2016/17 campaign.

Indeed, only eight Arsenal players have hit that mark before Saka: Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla and Sanchez.
