Lining up next to Saka has been Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, who has come on leaps and bounds since taking the armband on a permanent basis.

Across London at Brentford, Ivan Toney has been busy consolidating his status as one of the Premier League's top centre forwards.

After instinctively tapping in the Bees' second in a 2-2 draw with Tottenham, he opened the scoring in their 2-0 win away at West Ham days later. He also teed up Josh Dasilva for Brentford's clincher at the London Stadium.

Heading north now, and of course Erling Haaland is up for this award again.

Three goals in just two Games to round off December - including a brace at boyhood club Leeds United - saw Manchester City take four points from a possible six on their return to Premier League action.

What a signing Casemiro is proving to be for Manchester United.

One of the world's leading midfielders took his game to new heights in December, putting in two all-action displays to help secure wins and cleen sheets against Nottingham Forest and Wolves.

6. Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)

Marcus Rashford's redemption continued with a brilliant December for Manchester United.

After scoring one and making one in their 3-0 triumph against Nottingham Forest, he was surprisingly dropped to the bench for the Red Devils' trip to Wolves on New Year's Eve.

But the England forward came on as a second-half substitute and helped steal the points with a wonderful solo goal.
