Power Rankings: The best teams in Europe - Week 9

Following a week in which: - Jude Bellingham continued to be the best player in the world. - Bayer Leverkusen continued to be unbeatable. - And Aston Villa continued their rise up the Premier League table. We at 90min are back at it again, ranking the top ten best football teams in Europe. On the watchlist Icardi is scoring goals / Ahmad Mora/GettyImages Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Benfica The Turkish clubs just about didn't make the cut this week. Both won their Super Lig games as expected, and Galatasaray followed that up with a dramatic 3-3 draw with Man Utd in the Champions League. If they secure their place in the round of 16 with a win over Copenhagen on matchday six they'll definitely make the power rankings (we promise). Benfica were also close to making it this week, but their squandering of a 3-0 lead against Inter meant we couldn't justify their inclusion. The Premier League have named the four bosses up for November's Manager of the Month award. Tottenham's Ange Postecoglou, after three consecutive victories, drops out of the running this month, opening the door for a new winner. Here's a rundown of the four nominees. They secured their second win of the season with a huge 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at the end of the month, having picked up a point at home to Liverpool in their first November outing. December includes Game s against Arsenal, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Chelsea, so Luton could hardly have picked a better time to find some form. X reacts to 'absolutely bonkers' 3-3 draw between Man Utd & Galatasaray

Manchester United played out a chaotic and wildly entertaining 3-3 draw with Galatasaray in Istanbul on matchday five of the Champions League on Wednesday evening. Having already been beaten by the Turkish giants this season, as well as Bayern Munich and Copenhagen, United were desperate for a win to get their chance of qualifying for the knockout stages back on track. More than once, that looked within reach, but then it all collapsed. Early goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes set the English visitors on their way, before Hakim Ziyech pulled one back from a free-kick. Even so, Scott McTominay made it 3-1, only for an Andre Onana howler to gift Ziyech his second of the game from another set-piece. Kerem Akturkoglu soon ensured the points would be shared with his world class strike. Through the afternoon, there were doubts as to whether the game would even go ahead because of the rain that had been falling all day in Istanbul. Those concerns were shortlived in the end. Cur

Ricardo Pepi scores Champions League winner for PSV: how many Americans have scored in the UCL?

PSV Eindhoven’s Champions League victory over Sevilla was a Game to forget for Mexico international Hirving Lozano, but one to remember for CONACAF rival Ricardo Pepi of the USMNT. Pepi’s sends PSV Eindhoven into the Round of 16 While Lozano incurred a one-match suspension that will see him miss his team’s matchday six clash against Arsenal and then picked up an injury, Pepi came off the bench in the closing stages to complete a dramatic turnaround in Spain, heading in a stoppage-time winner after his team had been 2-0 down with just a quarter of the Game left to play. Andre Onana: Man Utd goalkeeper best Premier League shot-stopper data reveals

Image
Andre Onana is not the type of character to wilt when circumstances go against him. While at Ajax in 2021, Onana mistakenly popped a diuretic pill prescribed to his wife when he'd been fumbling around for some paracetamol. He was served with a nine-month doping ban. "It was incredible," he recalled, "40mg can destroy a career." Forced to watch on from the sidelines while wild accusations were flung his way, Onana held firm and only improved upon his return. The 27-year-old reached last year's Champions League final with Inter before becoming the most expensive goalkeeper in Manchester United's History in the summer. "I've come back from it," he said of his ban, "but if it happened to someone less strong mentally it would be very difficult." Onana's mental fortitude was firmly required during a testing opening few months at Old Trafford. A gaggle of goalkeeping errors, with his hands and vaunted feet, culminated in Onana lett
